Bitcoin market sees major shifts in liquidity and institutional holdings
The Bitcoin market is experiencing significant activity characterized by large-scale movements of long-term holdings and shifting institutional dynamics. Several ancient wallets, some inactive for over a decade, have recently moved substantial amounts of BTC, including one wallet that saw a value increase of over 10,000 percent since 2011.
On the institutional front, Strategy has expanded its holdings by purchasing 950 BTC for approximately $76 million, bringing its total reserves to 846,000 BTC. Meanwhile, analysts are debating the impact of macroeconomic policy. Michael Howell, CEO of CrossBorder Capital, suggests that Federal Reserve interest rate hikes might not be negative for Bitcoin, arguing that increased rates can act as a stimulus by injecting more cash into the private sector through interest payments to bondholders.
Technical analysis shows Bitcoin recently surpassed the $87,000 mark. While some analysts predict targets between $88,600 and $97,637, others note a bearish divergence in the RSI index. Long-term price forecasts remain bullish among some experts, with Mark Yusko of Morgan Creek Capital projecting a potential rise to $250,000, citing a shift from a distribution phase to an accumulation phase.
