Bitcoin miners pivot to AI and tokenized assets as Bitmine launches preferred stock dividend
Bitmine Immersion Technologies announced a cash dividend of $0.1056 per share on its 9.50% Series A perpetual preferred stock, payable on July 15, 2026. The dividend highlights the company’s shift toward a more mature capital‑market approach for immersion‑cooled Bitcoin mining operations.
At the same time, major Bitcoin miners are redirecting capital toward artificial‑intelligence and data‑center services as mining margins tighten. Nvidia’s reported $20 billion bond offering to finance its AI expansion is seen as a catalyst for miners such as HIVE Digital, Hut 8, CleanSpark and TeraWulf, which are positioning themselves as AI‑infrastructure providers.
The tokenized real‑world asset (RWA) market continued to grow, reaching a total on‑chain value of about $43 billion, with projections that tokenized assets could eventually comprise trillions of dollars in market cap. Ripple announced an investment in African fintech Flutterwave, valuing the company at $3.3 billion and extending Ripple’s payments platform across the continent.
Separately, a Manhattan appeals panel upheld the fraud conviction of former FTX CEO Sam Bankman‑Fried, confirming his 25‑year sentence.
