Bitcoin price dynamics linked to global liquidity and supply caps

Bitcoin's market performance is influenced by both its fixed supply mechanics and broader global liquidity trends. While the protocol enforces a hard cap of 21 million coins, this scarcity does not guarantee price stability or prevent significant market drawdowns.

Historically, Bitcoin has experienced peak-to-trough losses exceeding 70% to 80% during market cycles. Because price is driven by supply and demand rather than the issuance limit alone, the scarcity narrative does not shield investors from volatility. Furthermore, the mathematical reality of recovery requires much higher percentage gains to offset deep losses.

Beyond internal mechanics, Bitcoin often behaves as an asset sensitive to global liquidity. When M2 money supply and available capital in the financial system increase, Bitcoin tends to benefit from higher risk appetite. Conversely, periods of monetary tightening, rising interest rates, and a strengthening dollar often lead to reduced exposure to the volatile asset.
