Bitcoin price stabilizes near $81,000 amid slowing corporate demand
Bitcoin has recently traded around the $81,000 mark, showing a weekly increase of approximately 5.29%. Despite this growth, data from Glassnode indicates that demand from Bitcoin treasury companies—entities that primarily hold the asset for long-term appreciation—has significantly weakened compared to previous years.
In the last three months, these corporate entities purchased only about 5,900 BTC, a sharp decline from the massive accumulation seen in 2025, where companies added over 100,000 BTC to their reserves. Currently, the average cost basis for these corporate treasuries is approximately $80,500, meaning many are currently in a loss position. MicroStrategy remains a dominant player in this space, accounting for a large portion of recent purchases.
Market volatility remains influenced by macroeconomic factors, including US inflation data and Federal Reserve interest rate decisions. While the failure of the Clarity Act initially caused a price drop, the market showed resilience. Analysts suggest that the exhaustion of selling pressure may indicate the market is nearing a bottom in the medium to long term.
