Bitcoin sees volatility amid Fed policy and Morgan Stanley fund outperforms

The U.S. Federal Reserve is expected to keep its policy rate between 3.50% and 3.75% this week, a decision that investors say could sway the price of Bitcoin, which is trading around $65,000. The Fed announcement, together with upcoming data releases on U.S. GDP, unemployment claims and the core PCE index, forms a three‑day backdrop for cryptocurrency markets. The Bank of England and the Bank of Japan are also set to announce their rate decisions, with markets anticipating a status‑quo in both cases.

At the same time, Morgan Stanley’s Bitcoin fund (MSBT) has shown resilience while the broader Bitcoin ETF market recorded massive outflows. On 23 July the fund attracted $5 million of new capital, bringing its net inflows since launch to about $431 million, despite the sector losing $225.1 million overall. Low fees of 0.14% and the bank’s distribution network are cited as advantages. Competitors such as BlackRock, Fidelity, Bitwise, Ark Invest and Franklin Templeton posted sizable withdrawals, with BlackRock alone shedding $202.5 million. The contrast highlights differing investor confidence across Bitcoin‑linked products.
