Bitcoin slides below $64k as crypto market sees $3.9 bn liquidations
On July 30, Bitcoin fell to about $63,691, a 0.36% dip, while Ethereum slipped to $1,897, nearly a 1% decline. The broader crypto market recorded $3.91 billion in liquidations over the previous 24 hours, with long‑position traders accounting for more than 70% of the losses. The Fear & Greed Index dropped to 28, keeping the market in the “fear” zone.
The Federal Reserve’s unchanged interest‑rate decision, coupled with hawkish remarks from Chair Warsh, weighed on risk assets, further dampening buying pressure. Meanwhile, stablecoin USDC recorded $1.635 billion in 24‑hour trading volume, Bitcoin $1.067 billion and Ethereum $577 million. Other notable movers included BETA, which surged 64% over the day.
