Bitcoin holds monthly gain as crypto market faces mixed outlook

Bitcoin ended the month in positive territory, signalling that the wave of forced selling triggered by margin calls and insolvencies has largely subsided. Analysts, however, warn that August could be volatile as central‑bank rate‑hike fears and upcoming employment data may pressure risk assets.

Ethereum saw its price climb back above the $1,900 mark on 29 July, buoyed by inflows into US‑spot ETFs and short‑liquidation buying. Staking firms such as BitMine derived almost all of their $46.5 million quarterly revenue from Ethereum validation, holding 5.77 million ETH of which about 85 % is staked, and project potential annual earnings of roughly $284 million if the full supply were staked.

Regulatory discussion shifted to stablecoins after Anthony Pompliano argued that Bitcoin already enjoys sufficient clarity and that policy focus should target yield‑bearing crypto products. In the United States, the CLARITY Act continues to move through the Senate.

Blockchain adoption expanded in Asia: Kansai Electric Power launched a system that converts its loyalty‑point program into the yen‑stablecoin JPYC on the Polygon network, while Circle purchased more than 680 IBM blockchain patent families (about 1,000 patents). Robinhood’s prediction‑market platform also out‑performed its crypto revenue, recording $156 million in event‑contract earnings.

Overall, the crypto sector shows a blend of market resilience, growing institutional staking activity, and accelerating real‑world blockchain use cases, tempered by regulatory scrutiny and macro‑economic uncertainty.
