Bitcoin Suisse launches German operations under MiCAR licence
Swiss crypto firm Bitcoin Suisse has begun offering its services in Germany after obtaining a MiCAR licence for its Liechtenstein subsidiary, Bitcoin Suisse (Europe) AG. The licence enables passporting of regulated crypto services across the European Economic Area, making Germany the first market the firm actively targets.
Bitcoin Suisse aims at wealthy private clients, corporations and institutional investors, providing cryptocurrency trading, custody and staking with dedicated account managers and a self‑developed infrastructure. CEO and co‑founder Andrej Majcen called the licence a “game‑changer” that adds regulatory clarity and uniform access for crypto investments throughout Europe.
Founded in 2013 in Zug, the company previously attempted to secure a Swiss banking licence, which was rejected in 2021. It now operates in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the United Arab Emirates and Bermuda, managing assets worth over CHF 6 billion.
