Bitcoin Suisse to cut up to 60 Swiss jobs amid global restructuring

Bitcoin Suisse, a crypto financial services provider based in Zug, Switzerland, has announced a major restructuring plan that could result in the loss of up to 60 jobs in Switzerland. This represents approximately half of the company’s 120-person Swiss workforce.

The company intends to shift software development, back-office, and administrative functions to international hubs to reduce operating costs and support global expansion. As part of this move, the firm will close its IT development site in Copenhagen and consolidate operations in Bratislava, Slovakia. Additionally, Bitcoin Suisse plans to establish a new technical hub in Vietnam.

CEO Andrej Majcen stated that the restructuring is a strategic pivot toward becoming an international financial services group rather than a response to crypto market volatility. While technical and support roles are being moved abroad, the company will maintain its headquarters in Zug and keep its client-facing wealth and asset management operations in Switzerland. A consultation process for affected employees is scheduled to run until September 20.
