Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs see three weeks of net inflows amid U.S. jobs data volatility
U.S. cryptocurrency spot ETFs have seen a sustained period of growth, with Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs recording their third consecutive week of net inflows. Bitcoin ETFs saw approximately $987 million in net inflows for the week ending September 4, driven largely by BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, which accounted for about 70% of the total. Ethereum ETFs also maintained positive momentum, recording approximately $218 million in net inflows over the same period.
However, Bitcoin's price volatility has increased following the release of the U.S. August employment report. The report showed that nonfarm payrolls increased by 162,000, significantly exceeding the market expectation of 56,000. While the unemployment rate remained steady at 4.1%, the stronger-than-expected labor data raised concerns regarding potential Federal Reserve interest rate hikes, causing Bitcoin to briefly dip below the $80,000 level.
Technical analysts note that Bitcoin is currently facing resistance near the 50-week moving average and the $80,000–$82,000 range. Sustained movement above these levels is viewed as critical for confirming a long-term bullish trend.
