Bitcoin tests $80,000 level as Fidelity analyst eyes $100,000 target
Bitcoin is currently testing the $80,000 resistance level, a threshold that Jurrien Timmer, Director of Global Macro at Fidelity Investments, suggests could confirm a double bottom pattern. According to Timmer, a successful breakout above this level could set a trajectory toward a $100,000 target.
This technical analysis follows a period where Timmer had expressed caution regarding the asset's performance. Earlier projections had identified support levels between $65,000 and $75,000, but Bitcoin subsequently reached lows of approximately $60,033 in February and $57,742 in June.
Timmer has indicated that the current price action suggests a new four-year cycle bull market may be underway. While net long positions from futures speculators have reached record levels, market indicators suggest limited remaining room for movement, making the ability to hold the breakout level a critical factor for future price action.
