Bitcoin’s Origin and the Mystery of Satoshi Nakamoto
The Bitcoin network traces its roots to a nine‑page whitepaper released on October 31 2008 by an unknown author using the name Satoshi Nakamoto. On January 3 2009 Nakamoto mined the Genesis Block, embedding a reference to the British newspaper The Times headline about a looming bank bailout, signalling an alternative, censorship‑resistant monetary system.
Today the Bitcoin blockchain holds assets worth trillions of dollars, prompting governments to debate strategic reserves and financial firms to launch spot‑ETF products. Despite extensive speculation, the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto remains unverified. German Bitcoin analyst Roman Reher, founder of the education platform Blocktrainer, argues that the creator’s anonymity does not affect the network, which is fully decentralized and open‑source.
