Bitdefender and PT GIA partner to expand cybersecurity in Indonesia
Bitdefender has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with PT Gema Informatika Abadi (PT GIA) to provide consumer cybersecurity solutions across Indonesia. This partnership aims to make Bitdefender’s full product portfolio available nationwide through PT GIA’s extensive reseller network.
The collaboration comes in response to rising threats to personal data, identity, and privacy, particularly those driven by increasingly sophisticated AI-based attacks. According to data from the Global Anti Scam Alliance, 66% of adults in Indonesia have experienced fraud within the last year, a trend mirrored globally where 1 in 7 consumers reported being victims of scams in the same period.
Jack Chok, Director of PT GIA, noted that as consumers increasingly perform sensitive activities like banking and shopping online, the need for robust protection is critical. The partnership seeks to address vulnerabilities in mobile devices, as research indicates many users performing sensitive transactions do not utilize third-party security solutions.
