Bitget to acquire Thailand-based Cryptonomics

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has announced plans to acquire GMO-Z.com Cryptonomics (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a Bangkok-based digital asset exchange and brokerage. The acquisition will be conducted through Bitget’s interest in BTGT Management (Thailand) Ltd.

Under the proposed agreement, GMO Internet Group Inc and its subsidiary, GMO-Z.com Holdings (Thailand) Co., Ltd., will transfer their entire shareholding in the Thai entity to BTGT Management (Thailand) Ltd. or a designated entity upon completion. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and other conditions.

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen stated that the move aims to establish a stronger operational presence in Thailand by leveraging local expertise and market knowledge. The company is currently evaluating expansion opportunities across Southeast Asia to respond to evolving regulatory frameworks and growing demand for digital financial services.
