BitGo and Jupiter partner for institutional Solana staking
BitGo has added Jupiter as a validator option for its institutional custody and staking services, allowing eligible clients to delegate SOL directly from their existing BitGo accounts. This partnership enables institutional investors to earn staking rewards without moving tokens out of their secure custody environment.
Previously, funds seeking to yield SOL required transferring assets to external staking providers, a process involving multiple internal approvals and movements. The new integration allows delegation to occur within the BitGo ecosystem, maintaining benefits such as cold storage, bankruptcy-remote status, and access to insurance of up to $250 million.
Jupiter, a major Solana trading aggregator, operates the validator independently. Its main validator currently holds approximately 9.72 million SOL in active stake, representing about 2.24% of the total active stake across approximately 660 active validators.
