BitGo launches BitGo Labs to develop AI and digital asset applications
Digital asset infrastructure firm BitGo has announced the establishment of BitGo Labs, a new research and innovation unit dedicated to developing applications that combine artificial intelligence with crypto assets. The organization aims to leverage BitGo’s existing financial infrastructure to build and test consumer-facing services that are difficult to implement within traditional financial systems.
As its first major project, BitGo Labs unveiled Gokubu, an AI-powered consumer financial application. Gokubu features an AI-driven payment card designed for use at Visa merchants, providing users with a personalized financial assistant to manage spending habits and optimize reward benefits. The service is currently accepting user registrations.
The move is driven by the anticipated rise of AI agents capable of performing autonomous economic activities, such as negotiating contracts and making purchases. BitGo anticipates that blockchain and digital assets will play a critical role in facilitating the micro-payments and instant settlements required by these autonomous agents. This initiative follows previous AI-related releases, such as BitGo Assist, which allows institutional clients to query account data using natural language.
