BitGo Moves WBTC to Chainlink and Unveils LINK Institutional Management Platform

BitGo announced that it will replace LayerZero with Chainlink as the exclusive cross‑chain provider for its wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC). The migration, which uses Chainlink’s Cross‑Chain Token standard and the Cross‑Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), brings the total value of assets slated to move to Chainlink to about $14.6 billion, roughly half of WBTC’s $7.4 billion market cap. The shift follows heightened scrutiny of bridge security after a $292 million exploit of a LayerZero‑powered bridge earlier this year.

In a separate development, BitGo launched LINK, a unified dashboard that lets institutional clients view and transfer digital assets held in BitGo custody and on connected centralized exchanges. LINK sits atop BitGo’s Go Network Off‑Exchange Settlement infrastructure, enabling delivery‑versus‑payment trades while keeping assets in BitGo Bank & Trust. The platform currently integrates with more than ten venues, including OKX US, KuCoin and Deribit, and is part of the broader BitGo Prime ecosystem that bundles trading, financing and collateral management.
