BitGo opens Singapore office to anchor APAC expansion
Digital asset infrastructure company BitGo has opened a new office in Singapore, designating the city-state as its regional hub for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) market. The expansion follows a period of significant growth; Managing Director for APAC and President of BitGo Singapore, Angela Ang, reported that the company’s APAC client base has tripled since receiving a Major Payment Institution (MPI) license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in August 2024.
BitGo’s Singapore operations include regulated Digital Payment Token services, cold storage for over 1,300 digital assets, and token management. The company’s regional growth coincides with increasing institutional demand for regulated crypto custody and evolving regulatory frameworks across markets such as Hong Kong, Japan, and Australia. To support this expansion, BitGo has more than doubled its Singapore headcount over the past two years.
