Bitlis Eren University expands medical infrastructure
Bitlis Eren University (BEÜ) is advancing infrastructure projects for its Faculty of Medicine, including a new morphology building and a research hospital. Rector Prof. Dr. Necmettin Elmastaş stated that both facilities are targeted to be operational by 2028.
Construction on the morphology building has recently commenced, with an estimated completion timeline of approximately two years. Meanwhile, the research hospital is currently in the rough construction phase, which is estimated to be between 35% and 40% complete.
The medical faculty, which ranked 27th among state medical faculties in Turkey, has implemented a unique educational model. Supported by the Eren Foundation, students will receive a monthly scholarship of 50,000 Turkish Lira. To ensure high-quality training while infrastructure is finalized, students will complete their first three years of basic medical education in Istanbul before moving to Bitlis for their fourth year and beyond.
