Turkey marriage support project provides millions in aid to young couples

In Turkey, the 'Support for Young People to Marry Project' is providing significant financial assistance to new couples. In Kahramanmaraş, which serves as a pilot province following the February 6 earthquakes, 5,022 couples have received a total of 835.1 million lira from 10,761 applicants. The program offers interest-free loans with payments starting after two years; notably, if a second child is born during this period, the support is converted into a grant.

In Bitlis, a program was held at the Bitlis Police House for couples benefiting from the Family and Youth Fund. Governor Ahmet Karakaya attended the event, emphasizing that the state is working to reduce the economic difficulties young people face when establishing homes. He noted that the fund provides economic support alongside pre- and post-marriage education and counseling services.

Additionally, the East Anatolia Development Agency (DAKA) has signed agreements in Bitlis to support two new projects: an artificial intelligence-supported media expertise training for the Bitlis Journalists Association and an AI-supported project development capacity program for the Güroymak District Directorate of National Education.
