BitMine added to Russell 1000 Index, boosting institutional Ethereum exposure

BitMine Immersion Technologies (ticker BMNR) will be included in the Russell 1000 Index effective June 26, 2026. The company holds about 5.67 million ETH – roughly 4.7 % of the total Ethereum supply – and total assets worth an estimated $10.7 billion.

On‑chain data show BitMine has staked 4.88 million ETH, representing about 86 % of its Ethereum reserves. Inclusion in the Russell 1000 means passive funds that track the index will automatically buy BMNR shares, giving pension funds, 401(k) plans and other institutional investors indirect exposure to Ethereum. Analysts expect the resulting inflows could reach into the billions of dollars. Investors in BitMine include ARK Invest, Founders Fund and Pantera Capital.
