A senior prosecutor from the Bitola Higher Public Prosecutor's Office is under investigation for allegedly receiving rewards for unlawful influence. The Basic Public Prosecutor's Office for Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption has initiated proceedings against the 61-year-old suspect, identified as P. V. from Prilep.

Authorities suspect the prosecutor used his official position and influence to sway the decisions of other prosecutors and judges in at least four separate criminal cases. It is alleged that he pressured colleagues to issue lower sentences or to secure more favorable legal positions for defendants.

Following a court order, police conducted searches at the suspect's residence in Prilep and at the Bitola Higher Public Prosecutor's Office. During these searches, law enforcement seized six mobile phones, one personal computer, and one USB device.

A judge at the Basic Criminal Court Skopje has imposed precautionary measures, which include the seizure of the suspect's passport and a ban on performing certain professional activities. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to collect evidence.
