Atalanta defeats Venezia 3-1 in Serie A
Atalanta secured their first victory in four matches with a 3-1 win over Venezia at the Gewiss Stadium. The match was largely decided in the first half, driven by a standout performance from Montenegrin striker Nikola Krstović, who recorded two goals and one assist.
Franck Kessi opened the scoring in the 4th minute following a Krstović assist. Krstović then doubled the lead in the 6th minute with a header from an Eljif Elmas corner, before scoring his second and Atalanta's third in the 30th minute after reacting to a rebound. Venezia managed to pull one goal back in the 37th minute through an Antoine Hainaut header, but were unable to mount a comeback despite hitting the woodwork in the second half.
With this result, Atalanta moves to 10th place in the Serie A standings with nine points. Conversely, Venezia remains at the bottom of the table with zero points after six matches, leaving manager Giovanni Stroppa facing increased pressure regarding his position.
