Bitonto hosts international singing competition finals

The city of Bitonto will host the finals of two major vocal competitions at the Teatro Comunale. The fifth edition of the Caffarelli International Baroque Singing Competition is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, followed by the twelfth edition of the Tommaso Traetta Lyrical Singing Competition on Thursday, October 1.

These events are key highlights of the Traetta Opera Festival. The competitions feature 132 young talents representing 23 different countries, including participants from Italy, Japan, Korea, Russia, Norway, Albania, Spain, Chile, Mexico, Ukraine, Brazil, Australia, the United Kingdom, Georgia, Switzerland, Taiwan, Canada, Austria, Greece, Portugal, Turkey, Latvia, and Moldova.

The Caffarelli competition will be evaluated by a jury chaired by Vito Clemente, featuring international music directors and artistic directors. The Traetta competition will also be presided over by Clemente, alongside a panel of professional conductors.
