Bitonto inaugurates Felice Moretti library collection

The Centro Ricerche di Storia e Arte in Bitonto has officially inaugurated the ‘Felice Moretti’ library collection. The historical volumes were donated by the family of the late scholar Felice Moretti to become part of the city's cultural heritage.

The collection, which focuses on medieval history and historiography, is now housed in the ‘Donato Antonio De Capua’ library located within the San Giorgio church. The inauguration was attended by medieval historian Franco Cardini, a long-time associate of Moretti.

Moretti, who passed away in 2016, served as the president of the research center from 1986 to 1987 and directed the journal ‘Studi Bitontini’ from 1986 to 2004. The donation aims to provide local scholars and the community with access to significant bibliographic research and historical studies.
