BITS Pilani and Rane Group sign strategic automotive R&D partnership

BITS Pilani has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rane Group to establish a strategic industry-academia collaboration. The partnership aims to create a framework for collaborative research and development, intellectual property creation, and commercialization. The initiative will focus on addressing next-generation automotive challenges, including advanced electronics, autonomous mechanical systems, smart manufacturing, and AI applications.

The collaboration is designed to facilitate skilling through educational programs, build pipelines for student projects and internships, and support deep-tech talent incubation. By combining academic expertise with Rane Group’s manufacturing experience, the partnership seeks to accelerate the transition of research from laboratories to the market.

Separately, students from the B. K. Birla Institute of Engineering & Technology (BKBIET), Pilani, conducted a technical visit to the CSIR-Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CEERI) in Pilani. The visit provided 59 students with practical exposure to emerging technologies, scientific innovation, and engineering applications through technical sessions and interactions with researchers.
