European crypto investors favor digital assets over retirement plans
A survey by OKX reveals a shifting trend in European investment strategies, where digital assets are increasingly viewed as tools for long-term wealth creation. Among surveyed European investors, 19% favor cryptocurrencies for building lasting wealth, significantly outpacing the 8% who prefer traditional retirement savings plans.
This preference contrasts with trends in the United States, where 21% of respondents prioritize retirement accounts and only 12% select cryptocurrency. Despite the rise of digital assets, real estate remains the most popular choice for long-term wealth building across all surveyed regions, cited by 34% of respondents.
The study, conducted by Pollfish, included 1,932 adults aged 18 to 88 from the United States, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Poland. Notably, the participants were individuals who already had experience investing in cryptocurrencies, meaning the results reflect the views of existing crypto users rather than the general population.
