Bitwise explores tokenized fund shares and new alpha strategies
Bitwise Asset Management is exploring the tokenization of fund shares through a partnership with fintech firm Superstate. The company intends to use the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (BSOL) as the potential first candidate for this initiative.
This exploration focuses on recordkeeping rather than economic structure. If implemented, tokenization would allow ownership to be recorded via blockchain through Superstate’s infrastructure, while investors would retain the same rights and access channels as traditional DTC book-entry shares. Bitwise has noted there is no guarantee a tokenized option will launch, as it remains subject to legal and regulatory requirements.
Separately, Bitwise is expanding its service offerings with the upcoming launch of an ‘alpha strategies’ product line. Expected to be announced during the week of August 17, this new division, led by Jeff Park, aims to pursue market outperformance. This move is part of a broader strategic framework by CEO Hunter Horsley to transition the firm toward a multi-category asset management platform encompassing ETFs, staking, vault curation, and alpha strategies.
