Bivacco dei Loff faces degradation and fire risks

An excursionist has reported severe environmental degradation and safety hazards at the Bivacco dei Loff, located at an altitude of 1,140 meters in the Treviso Prealps near Cison di Valmarino.

The site, situated near the San Boldo pass, has been compromised by the abandonment of waste and human excrement. Additionally, there were attempts to light fires under the shelter despite explicit prohibitions. Given the current dry vegetation and drought conditions, these actions pose a significant risk of uncontrolled wildfires. Such incidents of misconduct have previously led to the closure of similar mountain shelters in the region.
