Bivona hosts 'Il tempo delle pesche' festival to showcase Pesca Bivona IGP

The municipality of Bivona in Sicily will hold the 39th edition of the "Il tempo delle pesche" festival on 8‑9 August. The two‑day event celebrates the Pesca Bivona IGP peach, highlighting the work of local families, producers, cooperatives and related businesses. Activities include a historic‑centre walking route with tastings, cooking shows, musical performances and talks on the future of the Sicani region.

The festival follows severe wildfires that damaged forests, homes and crops in Bivona and neighboring towns. Mayor Milko Cinà said the celebration now carries “even stronger value” as it supports those who continue to work the land and protect the landscape. Assessor Salvatore Cannella added that protecting the IGP peach safeguards an important part of Italy’s agricultural heritage. The programme features local folk group Sikania Folk, chefs Alessandro Spina and Giovanni Spataro, wine tastings and a cabaret show.
