Bizkaia ambulance services face delays and legal claims

In Bizkaia, users of non-urgent ambulance services are reporting delays of up to nine hours. Complaints have been filed with hospitals and transport services regarding the inefficiency of the transfer system.

Simultaneously, the Basque Government has intervened in the insolvency proceedings of Ambulancias La Pau, claiming 13.6 million euros. The ESK union has characterized the situation as a chronic management problem, alleging that the service is managed with a focus on economic efficiency rather than patient priority.
