Béjaïa Airport expands aircraft parking capacity
Work has begun on extending the aircraft parking area at Béjaïa’s Soummam‑Abane‑Ramdane Airport. The project will add four new parking positions, raising the total capacity from four to eight spots, allowing more planes to be handled simultaneously and supporting the region’s growing air traffic.
The extension is part of Algeria’s 2026 development programme, with a nine‑month construction schedule and funding from an 8 billion DA allocation for multiple infrastructure projects. Officials say the larger apron will improve passenger services, boost economic and tourism development, and facilitate the deployment of firefighting aircraft that operate from the airport during summer fire‑fighting campaigns.
