Borussia Dortmund's U19 team secured a 4-2 victory against RW Oberhausen in their DFB-Nachwuchsliga season opener. The match was highlighted by a standout performance from Icelandic newcomer Bjarki Gardarsson, who scored a hat-trick within the first 17 minutes of the game.

While Marwan Mirza added a fourth goal before halftime, Oberhausen managed to reduce the deficit to 2-4 later in the match. Following the game, U19 coach Felix Hirschnagl noted that the team needs to work on maintaining defensive stability for the full 90 minutes.

In other club news, the Borussia Dortmund women's team continues their strong preseason form, recording a 6-1 victory over SC Heerenveen. Goals in that match were provided by Ramona Maier, Alexandra Popp (who scored twice), Ronja Leubner, and Jacqueline Meißner.
