BJD corporator arrested for Rs 1.25 crore land fraud in Cuttack

Satyaram Sahu, a Biju Janata Dal (BJD) corporator for Ward 25 of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation, has been arrested for allegedly defrauding a businessman of Rs 1.25 crore.

According to police, Sahu operated a real estate firm named Omm Real Con and promised land on the outskirts of Cuttack. The victim, Guru Prasad Moharana, transferred the funds for land registration, but Sahu allegedly delayed the process indefinitely. After failing to return the money and issuing a bounced cheque, Sahu was arrested by the Purighat police following a formal complaint.

In a separate incident in Kandhamal, Dharmendra Kumar Behera was arrested for allegedly posing as a Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) to defraud a woman of Rs 7.18 lakh through false promises of employment and marriage.
