Bjorn Fortuin named captain for South Africa tour of Namibia
South Africa has announced a 15-member squad for its upcoming white-ball tour of Namibia, appointing spinner Bjorn Fortuin as captain. The tour includes a T20I tri-series featuring Namibia and Zimbabwe from August 28 to September 6, followed by a three-match ODI series against Namibia from September 9 to 13. This marks the first bilateral 50-over series between the two nations.
Head coach Shukri Conrad stated that the decision to use a single squad for both formats aims to provide continuity and expand the team’s international experience. The squad features several new faces and domestic performers, including Duan Jansen, Eathan Bosch, Connor Esterhuizen, Jordan Hermann, and Nqobani Mokoena.
Regular captains Aiden Markram and Temba Bavuma have been rested to manage workloads ahead of a demanding home Test season. Other notable players, such as Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj, are also absent from the touring group.
