BJP attacks Karnataka Cabinet expansion over lack of women and corruption claims
BJP leaders criticised the Karnataka government's recent cabinet expansion, saying it was driven by internal power struggles between former chief minister Siddaramaiah and current chief minister D.K. Shivakumar rather than public welfare. They highlighted the all‑male composition of the new cabinet, invoking Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s "Main Ladki Hoon, Main Lad Sakti Hoon" slogan to question the Congress party’s commitment to women’s empowerment.
The party also accused the Congress of endorsing corruption by re‑inducting minister B. Nagendra despite pending charges in the alleged Valmiki Development Corporation scam. BJP officials claimed the inclusion of a charge‑sheeted minister betrayed scheduled‑tribe interests and reflected factional politics within the ruling party.
