Punjab education minister faces resignation calls over exam paper leak

BJP MP Tarun Chugh demanded a CBI probe and the immediate resignation of Punjab’s education minister Harjot Singh Bains and the chief minister, accusing the AAP government of shielding those responsible for a pharmacy‑exam paper leak. BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa echoed the demand, charging the AAP with double standards after similar scandals elsewhere.

Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann broke his silence, asserting that no paper leak has occurred in the state for the past four‑and‑a‑half years. The controversy follows the recent resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, after which Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke said the party would soon outline its strategy, noting the Punjab issue is on its radar.

Opposition parties continue to press the AAP administration over the alleged irregularities, heightening political pressure in the state.
