BJP expands influence in Rajasthan and Punjab
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has seen significant political developments in Rajasthan and Punjab. In Rajasthan, Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra praised the party's success in recent municipal elections, noting that the election of approximately 4,200 BJP candidates marks a historic shift from the traditional trend of voters choosing independent candidates.
In Punjab, Major Bhupinder Singh Dhillon (Retd), a close relative and former political secretary to the late former Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal, has joined the BJP. Dhillon, who served as a minister in the Akali government from 1997 to 2002, joined the party under the leadership of State President Keval Singh Dhillon. Additionally, Pradeep Josh, a former state secretary for the Aam Aadmi Party's Scheduled Caste wing, joined the BJP along with several other local leaders and social workers from the Sanour area.
Separately, Harsh Malhotra addressed an incident in the North-West parliamentary constituency involving a BJP Mandal President and other workers. The Delhi BJP disciplinary committee has been tasked with investigating the matter, and officials have requested a formal explanation from the concerned MLA and Mandal President.
