BJP leader rejects speculation of Konda Surekha joining party

Senior BJP leader P Muralidhar Rao has dismissed rumors that former Telangana minister Konda Surekha may join the Bharatiya Janata Party. Rao stated that the BJP would not serve as a “bin” for political leaders who are dissatisfied with their current parties.

Addressing the speculation on social media, Rao suggested that media reports regarding Surekha's potential move might be an attempt to divert attention from internal crises within the Congress party. He emphasized that the Telangana BJP aims to be a credible political alternative based on character and content, rather than a destination for disgruntled politicians.

The rumors follow Surekha's removal from the Telangana Cabinet by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy following a disciplinary dispute within the Congress. Surekha has since criticized the removal, characterizing it as “blackmail politics.”
