BJP leaders demand resignation of Punjab government over law and order concerns

Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have launched a coordinated attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, alleging a total collapse of law and order. BJP officials, including state president Kewal Singh Dhillon, Ravneet Singh Bittu, Gaurav Bhatia, and Sunil Jakhar, have accused Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of administrative failure and negligence.

Dhillon reported a rise in violent crime, citing approximately 18 murders in October alone and several recent shooting incidents, including the killing of an AAP sarpanch's son in Amritsar. He further alleged that extortion is targeting businesspeople and that police personnel are increasingly under threat.

Other BJP leaders criticized the government for failing to address drug and arms trafficking, suggesting a nexus exists within the state administration. Ravneet Singh Bittu characterized the administration as being marked by apathy and political theatrics, while Gaurav Bhatia questioned the Chief Minister's priorities, contrasting recent murders in Punjab with the leader's international travel plans.
