BJP MLA Chandrapal Singh Lodhi injured in Ganga Expressway accident
Chandrapal Singh Lodhi, a BJP MLA representing the Dibai constituency in Bulandshahr, was injured in a vehicle accident on the Ganga Expressway in Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred while the MLA was traveling from Lucknow toward Ghaziabad.
Preliminary reports and CCTV footage indicate that the MLA’s Toyota Fortuner lost control after a tyre burst, causing the vehicle to skid and collide with a roadside pole. Some reports suggest heavy rainfall and potential aquaplaning may have contributed to the loss of traction. The collision resulted in injuries to the MLA, his PRO, and a security guard. Following initial treatment at a private hospital in Hapur, the MLA was referred to the AIIMS Trauma Centre in Delhi, where his condition is reported to be stable.
The accident coincides with severe weather conditions in the region. Heavy rainfall has caused significant waterlogging across various sections of the Ganga Expressway, including the Sonik toll plaza, where water levels reached several feet, submerging toll cabins and disrupting traffic.
