BJP MLA Gajendra Daral booked for alleged assault and casteist slurs

Delhi Police have registered an FIR against BJP MLA Gajendra Daral following allegations of assault and the use of casteist slurs by Sunil Kumar, the Kanjhawla BJP Mandal President. Kumar alleges that on the evening of September 10, Daral and several associates assaulted him, used demeaning remarks regarding his caste, and held him captive.

The case has been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) Act. In response to the incident, the Delhi BJP has summoned both Daral and Kumar to appear before the party's State Disciplinary Committee on September 16 to clarify their positions.

Members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have criticized the police response, alleging that authorities were initially slow to register the complaint. AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar demanded the immediate suspension of the MLA and called for strict action under the SC/ST Act, highlighting the alleged hostility faced by members of the Valmiki community.
