BJP MLA Subhasis Om allegedly assaulted by party workers in West Bengal

Subhasis Om, a BJP MLA from Debra, West Midnapore, was allegedly assaulted by six fellow party workers on Monday evening. The incident reportedly occurred following an altercation related to Om’s attempts to curb alleged corruption and extortion within his constituency.

Om stated he was attacked while attempting to intervene in a dispute and move toward a police station to address complaints against certain party members. He alleged that the extortion activities continue with the support of district party leadership. The six individuals named in his police complaint include a booth president and a mandal president.

A counter-complaint has also been filed against Om and his aides. While police are examining both sets of allegations, no arrests have been made. Local party officials have stated that the party will look into the internal dispute.
