BJP MP Raju Bista comments on West Bengal Durga Puja celebrations

BJP MP Raju Bista stated that the 2026 Durga Puja in West Bengal is particularly significant, claiming that anti-national, anti-social, and anti-West Bengal mentalities have been defeated. During the inauguration of the 76th College Durga Puja, which features a Kathakali dance-drama theme, Bista credited Prime Minister Modi for helping citizens connect with their religion and traditions.

In Kolkata, various pandals are showcasing diverse themes. West Bengal Governor RN Ravi inaugurated the 77th Dhakuria Sahidnagar Sarbojanin Durga Puja, which focuses on the struggles of the refugee community. Other celebrations include the Suruchi Sangha pandal, marking the 125th birth anniversary of Syama Prasad Mukherjee, and the Ahiritola Sarbojanin Durga Puja, which highlights the sweet-making heritage of North Kolkata.
