Delhi BJP protests demand resignation of Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains over exam paper leaks

On July 30, 2026, the Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a protest outside the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) office in New Delhi. The demonstration was led by Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra and included several BJP MPs and party workers.

The protesters accused the AAP‑led Punjab government of multiple examination paper leaks, naming the Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test, a Class 12 English board exam, a pharmacy officer recruitment exam and the Punjab Sub‑Service Selection Board (PSSSB) recruitment test. They demanded the immediate resignation of Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains and called for a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities.

Delhi police intervened, taking demonstrators to the nearby Mandir Marg police station before releasing them after about an hour. In some reports a clash broke out between police and BJP workers, and a heavy police and Rapid Action Force presence was deployed around the AAP office. The BJP framed the issue as a double‑standard by the AAP, which had previously supported protests against paper leaks at the centre.
