BJP releases village development manifesto for Rajasthan elections
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its ‘Gram Vikas Sankalp Patra’ (Village Development Manifesto) ahead of the 2026 Panchayati Raj elections in Rajasthan. Unveiled by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the manifesto aims to bring urban-style amenities to rural areas to prevent migration to cities.
Key economic and social promises include increasing the annual PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi amount to 12,000 rupees, purchasing wheat at a minimum of 2,700 rupees per quintal, and launching a 500-crore rupee Agriculture Accelerator Mission. The party also pledged to increase monthly pensions for widows and abandoned women to 1,500 rupees, build 3,600 new panchayat buildings, and invest 100 crore rupees in ‘smart pink toilets’ for women in public spaces.
Infrastructure and education goals include constructing 15,000 school buildings, 35,000 additional classrooms, and 19,000 km of missing link roads. The manifesto also highlights digital connectivity, telemedicine services, and subsidies for irrigation pipelines and agricultural machinery to modernize the rural economy.
