BJP seeks police action over derogatory posters targeting PM Modi in Tiruchirappalli

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) district unit in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, has requested police action following the appearance of posters containing allegedly defamatory and derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP district president K. K. Ondimuthu submitted a petition to the Trichy City Police Commissioner after discovering the posters on August 13. The A4-sized sheets, which featured an image of the Prime Minister, included statements such as, ‘Modi killed us; the blood of students is on Modi’s hands.’

Ondimuthu alleged that the posters were intended to damage the Prime Minister’s reputation and create public resentment. He described the content as false and fabricated, warning that its circulation could disturb social harmony and public order. The BJP has called for the immediate removal of the posters and an investigation to identify and prosecute those responsible for organizing or supporting the act.
