Björk to release orchestral album with Hamrahlíð Choir

Icelandic artist Björk will release a new album, Björk Orkestral with the Hamrahlíð Choir, on November 27. The project features recordings from a concert held at the Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavík on October 24, 2021.

The album includes new interpretations of Björk’s catalog, blending choral arrangements, electronic elements, and orchestral sounds. The performance focused heavily on the vocal world of her Medúlla era, utilizing strings, winds, and ensemble voices. The single “Where Is The Line (Live at Harpa Hall)” serves as the lead track.

Björk noted that the project explores the intersection of nature and technology. She also expressed gratitude to Bergur Þórisson, Þorgerður Ingólfsdóttir, and the Hamrahlíð Choir for their collaboration. Proceeds from the original concert were donated to Kvennaathvarfið, a women's shelter in Reykjavík.
