BJ's Wholesale Club Plans Second Store in New Hartford, NY

BJ's Wholesale Club has submitted a proposal to the Town of New Hartford to open a new warehouse‑club location at Sangertown Square, the former Macy’s department‑store space. The plan would convert the vacant anchor into a BJ’s store and add a gas station near Seneca Turnpike.

The proposal will be reviewed at a New Hartford Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals meeting on Thursday, Aug. 20, with a public hearing held simultaneously. Residents will have the opportunity to comment before the project proceeds through required approvals. The development could affect the existing BJ’s Wholesale Club in North Utica, though officials have not indicated whether both locations will remain open.
