BKK appoints Ádám Bodor as new CEO
Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony has appointed Ádám Bodor as the new CEO of the Budapest Transport Center (BKK), effective September 1. Bodor, a mobility expert who joined BKK in 2020, previously served as the Deputy CEO for Mobility.
István Válóczi will take over as Deputy CEO to coordinate investments while continuing his role as Engineering Director at Budapest Közút Zrt. The leadership changes aim to ensure continuity and efficiency as the city prepares to implement numerous development projects funded by European Union resources.
Key planned projects include the potential extension of Metro Line 3, the development of tram lines in Pest and Buda, the renovation of the underground railway, and the expansion of the city's cycling network and green spaces. BKK had been operating under interim management since the resignation of former CEO Katalin Walter in May 2024.
